Will a screen protector fill in minor scratches?
I have an iPhone 3G. I LOVE it but i dropped it and the screen got scratched (not cracked). What i want to know is, do any of you think that putting a screen protector on the screen will "fill in" the scratches? I think it will, but i want to know what you all think. Has anyone ever had the same problem?

iPones have a coating on the screen. The best way to repair it is to fill in and build up the scratch, layer-by-layer, using a repair kit that addresses coated plastics. Since coatings refract light differently (tint), results will depend on the depth and width of the scratch and tint of the coating.
Smoothing a scratched surface with a series of abrasives will strip all coatings. Since the touch system is covered by a clear flexible layer, which is then covered with the iPod coating/s, you will want to be particular with the repair system you use. Scratch Pro has a filler and it is about $20 at The Source. It will also prevent smudging and provide some extra scratch protection. I have listed two good sites to help you out.
